• I will be eternally thankful with Dr Sweet for the Meniscus repair he did on my right knee, I was kinda skeptical about the results, a 50/50 chance to be 100% functional due to the sever condition of my knee, always swollen, I couldn't bend it or be on my knees, not even able to go upstairs or have long walks or being able to wear high heels, also having a random pooping painful feeling on the meniscus area, :( I have a very active life style and i was able to get if back after 7 weeks of my knee surgery and i couldn't be more happy, seriously!! • In early May 2018, Dr. Sweet performed an ACL reconstruction using my patellar tendon graft. I am 8 weeks out of surgery and feeling amazing. • So I first had the opportunity to use Dr. Sweet after a tennis injury back in 2015. The arthroscopic surgery went so well that I did not even need the supplied crutches. The staff and EVERYONE was awesome. Fast forward to 2017 and a more serious surgery to my right shoulder. Once again, Dr. Sweet did impressive work while inside arthroscopically, sewing up a torn bicep, removing bone spurs. and other stuff needing repair. While my time to fully heal went from 6 weeks to 6 months, I am already out of my sling (6 weeks), have an awesome PT program I am working on, and once again on way to full and painless use of my right shoulder. • SI was referred to Dr Stephen Sweet ( Ocean Orthopaedic) years ago, by my primary doctor regarding my right shoulder problem; At first I wasn’t sure but after talking to my neighbor, her family as well as friends, they reassured me that Dr Sweet is an “excellent” shoulder doctor as well as the “sweetest”doctor in county of Ventura. He takes the conservative route as far as treatment before considering surgery. He has resident doctors assistance who are very nice as well.   Everything from initial consultation to surgery to post op has been exactly what I have needed, wanted and hoped for. Actually beyond anything I expected.
  
  I’ve now had four orthopedic related surgeries. This last one by Dr. Sweet exceeded what I’d hoped for. Been dealing with increasingly severe shoulder pain the last few years. MRI revealed partial rotator cuff tear but pain made it clear it needed to be repaired surgically. Was prepared for six weeks immobilized/sling, another 3-4 months rehab and up to a year or more before full usage. Instead, during the surgery he determined the worst culprit of pain was severe bursitis, inflammation and a few bone spurs.
  
  He cleaned it all up, did what needed to be done and not what didn’t. As a result, instead of six weeks in a sling I was able to be out in a day. I had less pain and more range of motion already a week after surgery when I started PT. It’s been five weeks and while I am still recovering and have another month of PT schedule, this is the best my shoulder has felt in at least five years. I thought my summer was shot with no travel, all focused on recovery. Instead we have trips booked and I’m able to do more already than I’ve been able to do in years.
  
  Here’s another thing. It’s been my experience some surgeons are great in the operating room but lack people skills, empathy, sensitivity. On the other hand, others demonstrate great patience, understanding, are good listeners and comforting but aren’t necessarily the most talented or most wise, astute in their diagnosis and/or finding and delivering solutions to medical issues. Dr. Sweet combines the best of all the best doctors I’ve ever had. As a result, I’ve felt heard and understood from the beginning, felt respected, and have enjoyed the reassurance of confidence in my doctor from start to finish.

• I want to share my experience with Dr. Sweet and the red blood platelet therapy on both knees. 7 years ago, I was told I needed my left knee replaced. I asked the surgeon what my options were, and he answered: "how much pain can you stand?". I looked into the blood platelet therapy and had my left knee injected. I saw improvement within 2-3 weeks. This carried through for 6 years with no pain or discomfort. 18 months ago, I injured my right knee riding my motorcycle. I made appoint with Dr. Sweet to look at my right knee for the platelet therapy. He looked at knee (MRI) and determined that I was a good candidate for the procedure. At that time, I elected to have both knees injected since I was carrying my weight on the left knee due to the injury to the right knee. We did the procedure and experienced results very quickly with no downtime. Dr. Sweet saw me for a 3-month evaluation and again at 6 months. It usually takes between 3-6 months for the full effect of the procedure. I have been pain-free and fully mobile ever since. I am a 61 year old male who is very active and on my feet all day long. I am very pleased with the results and can recommend Dr Sweet and this procedure.

• In 2017, I injured a knee. MRI showed a torn meniscus and cartilage damage (Grade 4). Dr Sweet scoped my knee in Dec 2017. The surgical procedure helped significantly, but I still had pain in the knee which was slowing me down.

  In April, I received my first PRP injection at Dr Sweet’s office. I noticed significant improvement within a week. My knee has continued to gradually improve since the injection. Right now, I’m pain-free (no icing or meds) with the normal daily routines. I’m happy with the procedure/injection.
